Well 16 Upgrade Project:
Replacing water main helps reduce the risk of water leaks, supports fire protection in surrounding communities, and maintains service reliability to meet customer demands.
Some of the improvements may include adding road base to the sites, fencing improvements, roof and structural repairs of buildings, electrical equipment replacement, piping and valve replacements, and the addition or replacement of pumping and treatment equipment. This will help protect these important water supply sources, maintain a reliable water supply, and increase safety and operational efficiency.
Existing water service lines will be replaced to maintain reliable water service for customers. This will help minimize service interruptions, reduce the risk of water leaks, and maintain water system operability.
Construction and installation of a new, 1.5 MG welded steel storage tank at the existing Stoddard Tank site. The new tank will include a tank mixing system, site piping, and flexible seismic piping connection. This will help maintain the reliability of the Stoddard water system pressure zone by providing additional gravity storage capacity to support firefighting capacity in the area.
The well building was upgraded to look more like a small residential home to better blend in with surrounding residential neighborhood. While the pump and motor remain the same, the building, pipes, electronics, and other components were replaced and/or upgraded.
Liberty recently completed upgrades to Marine Well 02 in Yermo. The well required upgrades such as new discharge piping, a new meter, and a new pump control valve, as well as new treatment equipment. After completing these upgrades, Liberty was able to put Marine Well 02 in service to help support customers’ water needs in Yermo.
