At Liberty, we’re committed to maintaining and extending the life of our water infrastructure to continue providing safe, reliable service while also keeping costs as low as possible for our customers.
Well 7, which serves some of our customers in Victorville, experienced mechanical issues and required immediate attention as Liberty’s sole water source for this area. Following a careful assessment, Liberty determined that rehabilitating the existing well, rather than drilling a new one, was the most cost-effective and efficient solution. The well would need to be taken offline this work, so a temporary water supply was provided through a secure interconnection with the City of Victorville, providing uninterrupted service for customers.
Our team removed the old motor and pump assembly, inspected the well casing, raised the pump pedestal to meet current standards, and cleaned and disinfected the well. Next, the well underwent a full video inspection, installation of a new pump and motor, new discharge piping to the hydropneumatic tank, and comprehensive water quality testing. All steps have been completed and as of March 9, has been safely returned to service.
This project reflects Liberty’s commitment to proactive, economic investments that support long-term water reliability for our customers now and in the future.
