At Liberty, we’re committed to maintaining and extending the life of our water infrastructure to continue providing safe, reliable service while also keeping costs as low as possible for our customers.
Recently, Well 7, which serves some of our customers in Victorville, experienced mechanical issues. As the sole water source for this area, a quick resolution was essential. After a careful assessment, Liberty determined that rehabilitating the existing well, rather than drilling a new one, was the most cost-effective and efficient solution.
Rehabilitation work is now underway, with much of it already completed. Our team has removed the old motor and pump assembly, inspected the well casing, raised the pump pedestal to meet current standards, and cleaned and disinfected the well. A temporary water supply is being provided through a secure interconnection with the City of Victorville so that service remains uninterrupted during the project.
Next steps will include a video inspection, followed by installation of a new pump and motor, installation of new discharge piping to the hydropneumatic tank, and water quality testing before the well is safely returned to service.
This project reflects Liberty’s commitment to proactive, economical investments that support long-term water reliability for our customers now and in the future.
