LIBERTY APPLE VALLEY 2016 WRAM/MCBA FILINGS WILL LOWER WATER RATES ON MAY 1, 2017
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
- ? On March 31, 2017, Liberty Utilities Apple Valley (Liberty Apple Valley) will submit the required Water Revenue Adjustment Mechanism (WRAM) and Modified Cost Balancing Account (MCBA) annual filings to the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC), which will result in lower water rates for Apple Valley customers.
- ? As a state-regulated water provider, Liberty Apple Valley utilizes the WRAM and MCBA balancing accounts to ensure it collects only the approved amount to operate and maintain the local water system. Customers receive a credit to refund any over-collected revenue or a temporary surcharge to make up a difference.
- ? Liberty Apple Valley water rates will be decreasing on May 1, 2017. The WRAM/MCBA temporary surcharge on customer bills will decrease from $0.169 to $0.065 per CCF (748 gallons) of water.
- ? The typical Liberty Apple Valley residential customer uses 11.655 CCF (8,716 gallons) of water each month and will see a net decrease of approximately $2.42 on their bi-monthly water bill.
- ? This rate reduction reflects Liberty Apple Valley’s work to stabilize local water rates, while maintaining the highest levels of quality, reliable water service.
- ? Earlier this year, the CPUC approved a request to delay Liberty Apple Valley’s next General Rate Case filing. This action effectively froze Liberty Apple Valley’s base rates for 30 months from Jan. 1, 2017 through at least June 30, 2019.
