You may benefit from TOU Rates if:

  • Most energy use in your home occurs/can occur after 10 pm.

  • You live in a single-family dwelling.

  • Your Excess Usage typically exceeds your Base Usage (you can determine this by looking on your bill under Account Activity; see example below).

  • You are not currently on Liberty Utilities’ Net Metering rates (customers cannot be on both rates).

If you typically consume a significant amount of Excess Usage and some of this consumption can be shifted to Off- and Mid-Peak hours, then the TOU Rate may be a good fit for your home or business.

You will NOT benefit from TOU Rates if:

  • Your usage typically falls entirely into Base Usage (look on your bill under Account Activity; see example below).

  • You do not live in a single-family dwelling.

  • Your Liberty Utilities’ account is for your second (non-primary) home. Exception: if most of your energy use in your second home is or can be during off-peak, you may still be able to benefit.

  • You are on Liberty Utilities’ Net Metering rates (customers cannot be on both rates).
