Delivering safe, reliable water service requires investments, maintenance, and when necessary, modernization of infrastructure. One example of this is the Newmire and Target water main replacement project in the Bellflower/Norwalk water system.
Liberty worked with two diverse suppliers to install 820 linear feet of new iron pipeline. This pipeline replaced an aging water main along Newmire Avenue and helps improve reliability and increase water capacity. The project also increased fire flow capacity and installed two new fire hydrants to increase fire protection in the surrounding area.
During Phase 2 of this project, Liberty will tie the new pipeline into the existing water system located at the Norwalk shopping center and will loop the water system to provide an additional feed to the shopping center, which will increase reliability of system.
