You may have seen our crews pruning or removing trees near power lines, but have you ever wondered why we perform this work?
At Liberty, vegetation management plays an essential role in helping to keep the lights on and reducing wildfire risk in our Tahoe/Sierra service area.
Throughout the year, our team inspects, prunes, and, when necessary, removes trees and other vegetation near our electrical equipment. Inspections help to identify potential hazards, such as trees that are dead, dying, or structurally unsound. Then, our team either prunes or removes these hazards to reduce the risk of vegetation coming into contact with electrical equipment.
Mitigating these potential hazards helps to increase service reliability by decreasing the potential for power outages, as well as maintain public safety by reducing wildfire risk.
