LIBERTY UTILITIES CELEBRATES COMPLETION OF $3.5 MILLION WELL PROJECT IN APPLE VALLEY

APPLE VALLEY, CA (April 15, 2019) – Liberty Utilities (Apple Valley Ranchos) Corp. “Liberty Utilities” today hosted a dedication ceremony to celebrate the completion of a $3.5 million well project that will ensure the utility can continue providing safe water and reliable service to the Apple Valley community for generations to come. The dedication ceremony was hosted by Liberty Utilities and the Apple Valley Chamber of Commerce, and provided attendees an opportunity to tour the well facility and learn more about how the new infrastructure will benefit the local community.

“On behalf of the entire Liberty Utilities team, I’d like to thank the community members and partners who attended today’s ceremony and joined us in celebrating the dedication of Well 35,” said Tony Penna, Vice President and General Manager for Liberty Utilities. “This new well was made possible because of the hard work of so many, and we appreciate all of the efforts that went into completing this important infrastructure project.”

Well 35, located along Apple Valley Road, was constructed to replace four retired wells and is capable of efficiently pumping up to 3,000 gallons of water per minute. Once online, it will work in concert with 19 other wells that provide water to the local water system that serves roughly 20,000 homes and businesses in Apple Valley.

“We recently retired four wells that had exceeded their useful life, but we did so knowing Well 35 could replace the combined production from the retired wells and help supply the water system in a more efficient, cost-effective manner,” said Penna. “Our water infrastructure includes 20 wells, 470 miles of pipe, 11 reservoirs and eight booster stations. Water system investments like Well 35 are an important function to ensure safety and reliability are never compromised.”
